courage, hope, and love

After meeting her, I had to think for a minute and imagine being in her shoes. A powerful young lady, who has managed to get through her school years, and earn a high school degree. Despite her physical challenge, and severe deformities, she managed to be part of the real world.

Aisha is a story of courage, hope, and love. Through courage, she faced the world on a wheelchair that she controls using 2 of her toes. Through hope, she earned her high school degree aiming to continue her higher education. Through love, she surrounded herself with people who believed in her, and tried every possible way to push her forward and provide her with a life of a normal human being.

The sad chapter of Aisha's story begins after high school. She graduated from high school, and her battle started in order to get admitted at the Higher Colleges of Technology, which is supposedly under the government of the UAE. Aisha was rejected once, twice.... Reasons were: no available bus, no available assisstive equipment ........

A dream of a local U.A.E. citizen has been broken into pieces because of a bus and equipment. Yes, here in the city of gold. Yes, here in the city that donates billions to help people in other countries. Yes, here in the city where everything is possible. In Dubai. She was deprived of her right to a high quality education because it just didn't matter. It was her time to wake up.

I will not comment on Aisha's story, because I do believe that there are more chapters to come. Chapters of struggle and endless battles. Chapters of achievements and dreams coming true. Chapters that reflect happiness and victory. I do see it coming because of courage, hope, and love that she still hangs on to.

It is people like you, who shed a light on such matters, that make a difference in these peoples' lives. Aisha is a story of struggle, and a story of AMBITION at the same time.

People who have this ambition can have the world under their fingers. If the matter at hand was to be brought forward to a newspaper, or any form of media, it will be looked after and followed up on. Otherwise, sadly, i don't know the fate of such an ambitious girl.

I hope she gets what she needs, and hope her the best for her future, for her right to a proper education. Through her will, anything's possible.

Well done, amazing post, keep them coming :)

S2: I think one way in which Aisha will be able to continue her higher education is through exposing her problem to the world--media. I will try to ask more about her situation and what is exactly her case, and insha'Allah will post the good news! Thanks ;)

its good to be able to communicate with u gurl.

I see alot of things changed in u gurl since uni. only from the way u blog. maybe because ur one of the people who are making impossible things become possible with hardwork and patience. U urself has developed ur self-confidence as a teacher.
I'm enjoying watching u grow as a special needs teacher.

I beleive teaching is such an honorable experience, to be able to share & apply ur knowledge and help improve ur children.

Gurl, ur making a difference in this world.

I'm really proud of u!

Fraizy! *hugs*

Aisha is just one of the many sad stories you hear of everyday at the center. Ofcourse, having the media more involved in this specific area would help so much in improving their lives. Its actually one of my goals I really wana achieve!

And yes, I am enjoying reading my friends comments. You give me so much confidence and im so open for your advices =)

el7imdilla being part of this field changed many things in me, as it would change any person involved with people with special needs. It makes you look at the positive things in your life. It gives you strength. It makes everything you have seem so valuable. And most importantly, lets you appreciate the small things you have in your life.

Thanks Fraizy for your support. It means a lot.
